Cold Cast engineers successfully demonstrated the cold spray technology usage for the aerospace and aviation industry as a new approach to aircraft repairing. The cold spray method helps the aircraft manufacturer to save time and money when repairing aircraft components. Cold spraying is an additive solid-phase thermal spraying process that can help to restore critical dimensional characteristics of components that may be lost due to corrosion, wear or mechanical damage. This method works by collecting powdered metal alloys used to repair a specific part and spraying them onto the metal of the damaged component, creating a mechanical bond. Cold spraying processes create a surface with little or no porosity without any changes in the substrate caused by heat.
